Ford Reveals 4 Special-Edition SUVs to Fuel Sales Fire

By Justin Cupler | November 2nd, 2018

Ford is on pace to set yet another record in SUV sales. And to celebrate its soon-to-be-official record, Ford revealed four new special-edition SUVs — two Explorers and two Expeditions — at the State Fair of Texas.

Here are all the details.

2019 Ford Expedition Stealth Edition

Ford based the 2019 Expedition Stealth Edition on the Limited trim level, but like its name implies, this special-edition Expedition takes on a stealthy look through creative use of black highlights. It starts with a set of 22-inch black-painted aluminum wheels and continues with a black-painted grille, mirror caps, roof rails, running boards, tailgate applique, rear bumper skid plate and hitch cover, headlight housing, fog-light bezels and taillight housing, front “Expedition” badge, and rear “Limited” badge.

It’s not all black, though, as the door handles take on the same color as the body, and the interior boasts red accent stitching. Also included is continuously controlled damping for a smooth ride.

2019 Ford Expedition Texas Edition

The 2019 Expedition Texas Edition is built upon the Limited trim level with the existing Special Edition Package. The Texas Edition adds 22-inch wheels and “Texas Edition” badges to the existing package’s features, which include the Cargo Package, Heavy-Duty Trailer Package, enhanced active park assist, park-out assist, perpendicular parking, forward and reverse sensing, and LED headlights and fog lights.

2019 Ford Explorer Limited Luxury Edition

As the name indicates, the Explorer Limited Luxury Edition is based on the Explorer Limited. It builds upon this already-luxurious SUV with 20-inch premium painted machined-aluminum wheels, multicontour seats with ActiveMotion, Nirvana leather seats with microperforation, an upgraded leather steering wheel, door trim with leather inserts, and chrome mirror caps.

2019 Ford Explorer Desert Copper Edition

The 2019 Explorer Desert Copper Edition is based on the XLT trim and adds touches of color and luxury to this SUV. On the outside, this special-edition Explorer adds 20-inch polished-aluminum wheels and chrome mirror caps. Inside, this rig gains leather first- and second-row seats and door panels, copper accents and stitching, and black-vinyl third-row seats with copper accents.

These new special-edition SUVs will be available at our new-car dealership serving Jacksonville, Florida later in 2018. Stay tuned for updates. Until they arrive, you can check out our online inventory to see what we have in stock.
