If you’ve been drooling over the Ford GT and have the funds to put this amazing supercar in your garage, there is still a good chance you are without. The reason is all production Ford GTs were earmarked for selected buyers only. If you weren’t one of those chosen, you were left out of the party. This could change soon.
Something is about to change very soon for the Ford GT, as the automaker will release “exciting Ford GT supercar news” at the legendary Goodwood Festival of Speed. We’re not privy to any insider info, but a teaser image shows off a silhouette of a very special-looking GT that boasts a larger rear spoiler with massive vertical fins and a sweet rooftop hood scoop. Could this be the long-rumored higher-performance GT? Well, with the mid-engine Corvette soon to challenge the GT for American supercar supremacy, the timing seems perfect.
We’ll find out on July 4, 2019 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
There have also been rumors of broader production for the GT and making it more accessible to buyers. This may also be a part of the Goodwood announcements and would also be quite timely with the new ‘Vette on its way.
Also breaking cover at the festival will be the all-new Ford Focus ST while the new Shelby GT500 will make its Goodwood hill climb debut alongside the GT Le Mans race car.
Stay tuned for updates.
