In a reach for more accessible power in your pedal, the Terrain adopted three new turbocharged four-cylinder engines, including a diesel. The standard model comes with a 1.5-liter engine with 170 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque, next up is a larger 2.0-liter with 252 horsepower and 260 lb-ft, as well as a 1.6-liter diesel rated at 137 horsepower and 240 lb-ft. In all three of these options, the turbos have you reaching your desired speed a little quicker and more efficiently than before.
GMC didn’t stop innovating after they closed the hood, there’s plenty to get excited about inside the 2018 Terrain too. The new 7.0- or 8.0-inch available high-definition touch screen syncs perfectly with both Apple CarPlay as well as Android Auto, has 4G LTE connectivity and even navigation, so you never miss a beat. Made with gorgeous, high-quality materials, there is plenty of leg room in the front and back seats plus enough cargo space for everyone’s gear. And you can easily load everything thanks to a power liftgate that you can access hands-free via a sensor that activates when you wave your foot under it.
And when you need a little extra help on the road, there are plenty of available safety features to give you confidence. The 360-degree parking camera, forward-collision warning, low-speed auto emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert all work together to ensure everyone’s safety.
