$420,000 Ford Mustang Heads Home to its Owner

By Justin Cupler | August 24th, 2018

The Ford Mustang has a 700-horsepower variant that went to auction to benefit the Experimental Aircraft Association AirVenture. Its owner patiently awaited his big win, but now the Eagle Squadron Mustang GT is heading home with a pretty impressive deliveryman.

The new owner is Brayton Williams, and his $420,000 bid was the winner at the Experimental Aircraft Association’s The Gathering fundraiser and auction in July. Williams took delivery of this special Stang at the Ford booth at the Woodward Dream Cruise, and the person doing the key exchange? None other than Drift superstar Vaughn Gittin Jr.

This pricey sports car is quite the looker with its Eagle Squadron Spitfire aircraft-matching color over Gittin’s Gittin’s Mustang RTR carbon-fiber wide-body kit that includes a front chin spoiler, rear diffuser, upper grille with integrated lighting, and a Gurney lip. Joining this aggressive body kit is the Performance Pack rear spoiler, front turning vanes, dive planes, rear flow conditioners, and rocker splitters.

Giving this rig its giddy up is a supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 that punishes concrete with 700 horsepower and 610 pound-feet of torque. Handling comes courtesy of the RTR Tactical Performance Suspension Package that includes MagneRide dampers, Ford Performance lowering springs, and RTR adjustable sway bars. At the corners are staggered RTR Aero 7 two-piece forged wheels wrapped in 285/30ZR20 and 305/30ZR20 Nitto NT555 tires on the front and rear, respectively.

Unfortunately, you cannot waltz into Garber Automall and buy a replica of this rig, but you can pick up a 2019 Mustang of your own. Whether you prefer the fuel efficiency and quick response of the standard 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder or the raw power of the 480-horsepower Mustang Bullitt, we have what you need here at Garber Automall.
