The 2019 GMC Sierra lineup is all-new, including the luxe-truck Denali model. While luxury is the name of the game for the GMC Sierra 1500 Denali, it is primed for hard work too.
Let’s start with the obvious, though — The 2019 Sierra 1500 Denali is a stunning pickup that makes luxury sedans blush in envy. It boasts premium goodies like a rearview camera integrated into the rearview mirror, adaptive ride control, the latest GMC Infotainment System, chrome exterior highlights, LED headlights, fog lights and taillights, 20-inch aluminum wheels, dual exhaust with chrome tips, Forge leather seating, open-pore ash wood trim, 360-degree camera, head-up display, a seven-speaker Bose audio system, and much more.
Safety is also a big deal in a truck that’ll likely serve as a daily driver, like the Sierra 1500 Denali will. GMC delivers all 2019 Sierra 1500 Denali models with standard stability control, Teen Driver, rear Seat Reminder, front and rear park assist, lane-change alert, blind-zone alert, and rear cross-traffic alert.
Need more safety? Opt for the Driver Alert Package II and get forward collision alert, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, low-speed automatic emergency braking, pedestrian braking, automatic headlights, following-distance indicator, and safety-alert seat.
Initially, the 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali will have two powertrain options: a 355-horsepower 5.3-liter V-8 with an eight-speed automatic transmission and a 420-horsepower 6.2-liter V-8 with a 10-speed automatic transmission. With the 5.3-liter engine, the GMC Sierra 1500 Denali can tow up to 9,600 pounds and haul up to 2,030 pounds of payload with rear-wheel drive. With the 6.2-liter V-8, the Sierra 1500 Denali tows up to 9,300 pounds and can haul up to 1,610 pounds of payload. These capacities are with the 5-foot-8-inch bed.
With the 6-foot-6-inch bed, the 5.3-liter-equipped Sierra 1500 Denali’s towing capacity remains the same, but its maximum payload falls to 1,960 pounds with rear-wheel drive. The 6.2-liter-equipped model sees its max payload fall to 1,540 pounds and its towing capacity drop to 9,100 pounds.
So, regardless of which GMC Sierra 1500 Denali you choose, you will have plenty of towing and hauling capacity. And we still have yet to learn about the torquey 3.0-liter turbo-diesel option, which will come later.
