The 2018 Cruze Diesel’s key feature is its 1.6-liter turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine paired to six-speed manual or nine-speed automatic transmission. This powertrain delivers ample power at 137 horsepower and 240 pound-feet of torque while delivering up to 31 mpg city and 52 mpg highway in the sedan variant. The hatchback model’s fuel economy is slightly lower at 30 mpg city and 48 mpg highway.
The 2018 Cruze Diesel comes in a sole trim level that includes standard 16-inch wheels, remote ignition, heated front seats, an eight-way power driver’s seat, cruise control, and more. But there are a few optional packages you can add to bump up the luxury a bit.
The Leather Package adds leather seating, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with heat and a four-way manual passenger seat. Gussy up the outside with chrome bodyside moldings for $230 and further the exterior accents with the Ground Effects Package. The Interior Protection Package ($200) adds a cargo-area tray and premium all-weather floor mats. Finally, boost braking performance with the Performance Brake Package, which adds painted calipers and slotted rotors.
