Centennial Editions Celebrate 100 Years

By Emily Eppley | October 3rd, 2017

Chevrolet has been making high-quality trucks since 1918 when the  One-Ton arrived in showrooms and is celebrating 100 years of excellence with the new Centennial Edition trucks for the 2018 Silverado and 2018 Colorado models. Chevy has set the standard for capability and innovation over the past 100 years, and while the designs have changed radically over time, the dedication to meet the form and function of the customer’s needs has stayed the same. These exciting models will have additional stylings and features available for a limited time so talk stop by our dealership to learn more about how you can secure your new truck today!

The exciting Centennial Edition trims will be available on the off-road-oriented Z71 models of the 2018 Silverado 1500 and 2018 Colorado models. You’ll discover a four-wheel-drive, crew-cab-only Silverado version that includes the LTZ trim level of equipment with 22-inch painted alloy wheels with chrome inserts. The mid-size Colorado Centennial will be available as either a crew cab or an extended cab, and your choice of rear- or four-wheel drive. You can even look forward to 18-inch wheels, a body-color rear bumper and grille surround, and chrome mirror caps, door handles, and body moldings. All other Z71 powertrain options are available for both the Silverado and the Colorado Centennial Editions.

The trucks will come in Centennial Blue topcoat and boast heritage-inspired bow-tie emblems that are rimmed in chrome and have Chevrolet written in chrome script on a dark blue background – an echo of the original One-Ton badge reincarnated with modern ingenuity. You can find this eye-catching brand symbol on the grilles, front doors, and tailgates plus additional 100-year badges on the front doors, chrome tow hooks, and more bow ties on their spray-in bedliners and floor mats.

“Today, the Chevrolet truck design studio is focused on purposeful design that creates personality and customization options for a wide breadth of truck customers,” said Rich Scheer, director of Exterior Design for Chevy Trucks. “Looking back on the past century of truck design, I realized that Chevrolet designers have been focused on the same goals since the very beginning.”
