Just in time for the holiday gift-giving season, Ford and Fisher-Price have teamed up to bring you the new Power Wheels Mustang. Far from the Power Wheels of your childhood, this tiny racecar is smart, safe and powerfully zippy.
Based on the sixth-generation version of the Ford Motor Company icon, this battery powered beast is equipped with what the company calls a Smart Drive powertrain, which is a computer-controlled system that has traction and stability control. It can detect slip and adjust motor speeds to keep the young driver in control and thanks to a cunning little tilt sensor that can detect when the car is reaching critical angles, the stability control can turn off the motors to prevent rollovers.
Parents can tame their speed demons because this bitty racecar has a speed control system that sets limits between 1 and 5 mph. The start and stop function is much like an actual car in the way that it ramps up or down in speed instead of just the on/off action with the pedal.
Best of all, it makes noise that has was recorded from an actual mustang so the kids can feel like a real dragster. They can even play their own tunes from an auxiliary input jack that matches almost any phone or music device.
The all new Power Wheels Mustang starts at $359. They might cost a pretty penny, but the quality and thrill of this fantastic little car are definitely worth it!
