2021 GMC Canyon Goes Rugged With New AT4 Model

The GMC Canyon is one of the more premium midsize pickups, especially when you move into the fully loaded Denali trim. The 2021 Canyon will move a new direction with the arrival of the new, more rugged AT4 model.

The 2021 GMC Canyon AT4 will start with a beefier design that will include dark-chrome finishes, a larger grille, and red tow hooks. Inside, the AT4 will show off some refinement with its Kalahari stitching and “AT4”-embroidered headrests.

While these upgraded style bits are welcome, what will make the Canyon AT4 unique will be its 31-inch Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac rubber slathered around 17-inch aluminum wheels, an off-road-tuned suspension, an Advanced Hill Descent Control System, four-wheel drive with an Eaton G80 automatic-locking differential, and a transfer-case skid plate.

Buyers will have two engine options to pick from in their 2021 GMC Canyon AT4 models. The base engine will be a 3.6-liter V-6 unit that pumps out 308 horsepower. Buyers seeking more pulling power can opt for the 2.8-liter turbo-diesel four-cylinder that injects 181 horsepower and a massive 369 pound-feet of torque.

Pricing is not available yet for the 2021 GMC Canyon AT4, but it will be available closer to its arrival later in 2020.
