Now, with EPA testing in the books, Ram has released the 1500 EcoDiesel’s official fuel-economy numbers, and they are nothing short of stunning.
The two-wheel-drive 2020 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel will roll in with an incredible 22 mpg city, 32 highway, and 26 combined. Match this with its available 33-gallon fuel tank, and the 2020 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel can travel up to 1,056 miles on a tank of diesel, giving it the longest cruising range in its class.
With four-wheel drive, the 2020 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel delivers up to 21 mpg city, 29 highway, and 24 combined. That 29 mpg highway rating makes the four-wheel-drive-equipped EcoDiesel model the most fuel-efficient four-wheel-drive model in its class.
The Ram EcoDiesel is about more than just fuel economy too. This diesel powerplant delivers up to 480 pound-feet of torque, giving it the most torque in the half-ton pickup class. With this torque, the diesel-equipped Ram 1500 tows up to 12,560 pounds, which also leads the class.
Buyers will have a wider range of configurations to get their diesel power, as Ram will offer the new-generation EcoDiesel engine in every model and configuration in the 2020 Ram 1500 lineup, including the off-road-friendly Rebel model.
