Luxury vehicles are great for shoppers who crave the feel of driving that posh-sounding brand-name vehicle, like the Infiniti QX60. But the sub-luxury 2020 Buick Enclave offers our Orange Park area shoppers nearly all the same features as the QX60 and costs thousands less. See how this near-luxury three-row Buick crossover stands up to a full-on luxury crossover right here.
Exterior
The Buick Enclave received a big redesign in 2018 that brought in a sharper, more European-inspired design. This new look helps this near-luxury crossover better compete with the true luxury cars that sit above it while maintaining a lower base price that allows it to battle the higher-trimmed mainstream models. It truly is a delicate balance that can fit virtually any buyer.
The 2020 Infiniti QX60 is one of those traditional luxury crossovers the Enclave has to match, but it is significantly older, as it debuted way back in 2014. Like most Infiniti models, the QX60 boasts a sportier look with its sleek front end, windswept headlights, zig-zag D-pillar, and wraparound taillights.
When looking at exterior features, the 2020 Buick Enclave has no shortage of goodies. It comes standard with 18-inch painted aluminum wheels, roof-mounted side rails, a rear spoiler, accent-color rocker panel moldings, bright-chrome bodyside moldings, heated outside mirrors with integrated turn signals, LED headlights with automatic on/off, LED signature lighting, LED parking lights, LED daytime running lights, deep-tinted rear glass, an acoustic-laminated windshield, intermittent windshield wipers, body-color door handles with chrome strips, a hands-free power liftgate with logo projector, dual-outlet exhaust, and more.
Compared to the Enclave, the QX60’s standard exterior features are surprisingly limited for a luxury vehicle costing over $3,000 more than the Enclave. They include 18-inch triple-five-spoke aluminum-alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, bi-functional LED headlights with auto-on/off, integrated LED fog lights, LED taillights, a power moonroof, a power rear liftgate, tinted rear glass, front door handle courtesy lighting, heated mirrors with integrated turn signals and power-folding, speed-sensitive windshield wipers, stainless steel front and rear door-sill plates, and more.

Interior
Inside, the 2020 Buick Enclave takes a small step backward from the luxury segment with its standard cloth upholstery, but it still looks great and well above your mainstream three-row crossover. Some of the keys that give it a more premium look despite its lack of leather seating include its leather-wrapped steering wheel, large touchscreen, electronic gear shifter, light color contrasts, and swoopy dash lines.
The Infiniti QX60, on the other hand, takes a step deeper into the luxury space with its standard leatherette upholstery, stylish seat stitching, round air vents, bold center stack, and starker color contrast. It does, however, show its age with its older-looking infotainment system and lack of key tech features buyers may expect from a vehicle in this class.
Speaking of features, other than its standard cloth upholstery, the 2020 Enclave is well-equipped. It boasts high-end standard equipment like the Buick Infotainment System with an 8-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth® connectivity with audio streaming, Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto™, Siri EyesFree, six USB ports (two front data and charge ports, and four rear charge-only ports), active noise cancellation, a six-speaker audio system, 4G LTE Wi-Fi® (data plan required), Buick QuietTuning™ technology, 40/40 second-row captains chairs, 60/40 split-folding third-row seat, heated front seats, an eight-way power driver’s seat, a six-way power passenger’s seat, power lumbar front seats, a tilt-and-telescoping leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 4.2-inch color driver-information center, a universal home remote, tri-zone automatic climate control, an auto-dimming mirror, remote ignition, OnStar, a high-definition rearview camera, and much more.
Other than its standard leatherette seating, the QX60 mostly matches the Enclave feature-for-feature, but it has a massive hole with its lack of available Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™. The QX60 does, however, make up for its limited fun tech with its more robust standard safety tech that includes automatic emergency braking and blind-spot monitoring. These are options on the Enclave.
In terms of roominess, the QX560 has more first- and second-row roominess, but it falls way short in its third row with just 30.8 inches of legroom. It also falls well short of the Enclave in cargo room with the seats up or down.

Advantage: 2020 Buick Enclave
- Standard Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™
- More third-row room
- Huge cargo area
- Matches many of the pricier QX60‘s features
Advantage: 2020 Infiniti QX60
- More standard safety equipment
- Standard leatherette upholstery
Performance
These large three-row crossovers need significant power to get them moving, and they get this from their respective V-6 engines.
The 2020 Buick Enclave comes standard with a 3.6-liter V-6 engine that pounds out 310 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque. This power shoots through a nine-speed automatic transmission and out to the front or all four wheels for a 6.6-second 0-to-60 sprint time and a 5,000-pound towing capacity.
The 2020 QX60 uses a 3.5-liter V-6 that’s slightly less powerful at 295 horses and 270 pound-feet of torque. This engine pairs with a continuously variable transmission that ships power to the front wheels or all four wheels, which results in a 7.7-second 0-to-60 sprint and a 5,000-pound towing capacity.
While the QX60 may be a good bit slower than the Enclave, it makes up for this with zippier handling and superior fuel economy. That said, the Enclave’s tuned suspension and Buick QuietTuning deliver an impeccably peaceful ride.
