Full-size SUVs are great options for large families who also need to do a little towing and cargo hauling. The 2019 Ford Expedition and 2019 Lincoln Navigator both can handle all these duties and more, but which of these Ford Motor Company cousins is better for our Orange Park area shoppers? Find out below.
Exterior
A quick glance in profile view, and it is easy to mistake the Lincoln Navigator for the Ford Expedition, but a longer look at both SUVs in their entirety shows a ton of differences. The 2019 Ford Expedition boasts a more mainstream look with its truck-inspired nose and more. Though it looks different, the Expedition hits high levels of luxury in its higher trim levels, which add more bright trim and larger wheels.
The 2019 Lincoln Navigator is a legit luxury SUV with its standard chrome-mesh grille, additional brightwork, more rear glass for added visibility, and upgraded lighting. This gives it just enough separation from the already high-end Expedition to make it a true competitor for Mercedes-Benz and BMW SUVs but with a more rugged, truck-like feel.
In terms of sizing, the Navigator and Expedition are virtually identical, but the Lincoln’s larger wheels make it slightly taller. Plus, its added features make it a few hundred pounds heavier.

Interior
Like the exterior, the 2019 Lincoln Navigator and 2019 Ford Expedition share a lot in base interior design. Again, closer inspection reveals two vastly different cabins. The 2019 Ford Expedition features a simpler, truck-like cabin with large knobs, upright styling, and limited fanciness. As you move up in trim levels, the 2019 Expedition’s cabin boasts plenty of luxury, but it never quite meets the level of the Navigator.
The 2019 Lincoln Navigator’s cabin takes on many more luxury-car touches, including wood trim, premium leather, a 10-inch touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster, a 14-speaker audio system and much more. Once you hit the Black Label trim, you run into one of the best-equipped SUVs south of the $100,000 mark.
In cabin room, the Navigator and Expedition are similar, but the Lincoln puts more focus on seating room, giving the Expedition more cabin room.
