Exterior
A redesigned Dodge Grand Caravan seems like a lifetime away, as it last arrived in 2008. Now, in 2019, the Grand Caravan remains the longest-running production cycle in the minivan segment. This gives it a dated appearance, but it also means you’re basically paying 2008 prices for a three-row, eight-passenger minivan.
The 2020 Chrysler Voyager is based on the Pacifica, so it carries the critically acclaimed design that debuted in 2017. This includes a semi-rounded rear liftgate, swoopy headlights, thin grille, sleek windshield, and sharp creases down the sides.
The 2020 Voyager is available in only a pair of trims inherited from the lower end of the Pacifica lineup: L and LX. Its standard exterior features are simple and include 17-inch steel wheels with hubcaps and black grilles. Moving up to the LX trim will add more stylish features like standard 17-inch alloy wheels and body-color door handles. Despite its simplicity, the Voyager, like its Pacifica sibling, will still be one of the best-looking minivans on the market.
The 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan’s base trim is also very simple with 17-inch steel wheels and hubcaps, a black and chrome grille, and other basics. Moving into its SE Plus trim adds some darkening features, black alloy wheels, and other sleek look-good bits. The range-topping SXT has standard 17-inch wheels, fog lights, bright moldings, and a power liftgate, which gives this aging minivan more range-topping exterior amenities than the new Voyager.

The 2019 Dodge Caravan and 2020 Chrysler Voyager show their close relationship under their hoods, as both come standard with the Pentastar 3.6-liter V-6 engine. In the Grand Caravan, this engine pushes 283 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque through a six-speed automatic transmission.
