Luxury sedans are at the top of many Green Cove Springs area buyers’ lists, but their prices can be prohibitive. The 2019 Chrysler 300 and 2019 Genesis G80 offer all the luxury they want at relative bargains. Which one is better for your needs? Continue reading to find out.
Exterior
The Genesis G80 is a serious luxury car for those on a tighter budget, and its exterior design puts this on display. It boasts a long hood and a cab-rearward layout like the German metal it competes with. It also catches a slight sporty edge as you near the rear, as its roofline swoops down to meet the trunk, creating almost a coupe-like profile, which is a growing trend in the luxury space.
Apple pie, baseball, and hamburgers have nothing on the American style of the 2019 Chrysler 300. This classically styled three-box sub-luxury sedan is a throwback to an era of simpler styling without looking too simple. This plays well when you opt for the 300S and its sportier looks that include dark wheels, an exclusive grille, a unique fascia, and more.
As a true luxury sedan, the 2019 Genesis G80 is loaded to the gills with standard goodies like 18-inch premium alloy wheels, a hands-free smart trunk release, bi-xenon HID headlights with auto-leveling, chrome quad exhaust tips, an acoustic windshield and side-front glass, rain-sensing windshield wipers, LED taillights, and more.
The Chrysler 300 is a sub-luxury sedan, so it doesn’t have the standard premium features the 2019 G80. That said, the base 300 Touring is still well equipped with standard dual exhaust with bright tips, 17-inch Fine Silver-painted aluminum wheels, acoustic windshield and front glass, black grille with chrome surround, LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, bifunctional halogen projector headlights, and Chrome headlights bezels. Moving into the range-topping 300C aligns you better with where the G80 starts, including 20-inch wheels, loads of platinum chrome, adaptive headlights, and more.

Interior
Inside, the 2019 Genesis G80 continues its luxurious ways with a clean dashboard design, soft seating, wood and metal trim, and more. There are also loads of features, including dual-zone automatic climate control, a 12-way power driver’s seat, leather seating, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, two USB ports, a power tilt and telescoping steering wheel, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a 17-speaker AM/FM/HD Radio/SiriusXM audio system, an 8-inch touchscreen, and navigation.
The 2019 Chrysler 300’s cabin may not be up to the task of taking on a full-on luxury sedan in its base trim, but it is still quite attractive with its clean design, available wood trim, Lux steering wheel, and more. It even has its fair share of standard luxury goodies like an 8.4-inch touchscreen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, 4G LTE Wi-Fi, and leather-wrapped steering wheel. When you move into the 300C, though, this American cruiser gets close to the G80 with its perforated seating, ventilated front seats, exclusive Limited leather upholstery, two-tone leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated and cooled front cup holders, and luxury front and rear floor mats.
The 2019 Genesis G80’s cabin is a luxury car for empty nesters with its 45.7 inches of front legroom, but its 35 inches of rear legroom makes it tight for rear passengers. This is where the 300 gets a win with its 40.1 inches of rear legroom. It also has an extra cubic foot of trunk space, making it a great cruiser for your weekend getaways.

Performance
Big sedans require big power, and the 2019 G80 and 2019 300 have plenty of it. The G80 starts with a 3.8-liter V-6 with 311 horsepower and moves into a 3.3-liter twin-turbo V-6 with 365 horsepower in the 3.3T Sport trim. Topping the range is a 5.0-liter V-8 with 420 horsepower. With these engines, the G80 is no sports sedan, but it has plenty of straight-line speed with 0-to-60 times of 6.3 seconds, 5.2 seconds, and 5.3 seconds, respectively.
With such a classic design, it should come as no surprise the 2019 Chrysler 300 has a classic engine lineup that starts with a 3.6-liter V-6 with up to 300 horsepower and tops out with a 363-horsepower 5.7-liter HEMI V-8.
Both models come standard with rear-wheel drive, but they also have optional all-wheel drive. The difference is the G80’s all-wheel drive is available with all three engine options, while the 300’s all-wheel drive is only available with the V-6 engine.

Who Should Buy the 2019 Genesis G80?
Looking for a legit luxury sedan that won’t cost an arm and a leg? The 2019 Genesis G80 may not have the brand cache of a BMW or Mercedes, but it has the features to set it apart. The issue is its pricing starts where the range-topping 300C starts.
Who Should Buy the 2019 Chrysler 300?
The Chrysler 300 is a sub-luxury sedan, so it lacks the big-time standard luxury features the G80 boasts. Where the 300 shines is its value for the dollar at each trim level. It also works better for families and those who haul adults in the rear seats with over 40 inches of rear legroom.
Head down to Garber Automall in Green Cove Springs today to test drive the 2019 Chrysler 300. Whether you need a commuter car to get to work in Jacksonville, a weekend cruiser for R&R in Orange Park, or you just need to drop the kiddos off at school in Fleming Island, the 2019 Chrysler 300 can do it all with style.
